About Teatret Gruppe 38
History
Teatret Gruppe 38 is a professional theater that has existed since 1972. In 1980 the theatre had the status of egnsteater - now small city theater. Initially, the theater resided in a rundown backyard in Frederick Street 34 in Aarhus, until we moved to the old, charming auction rooms in Mejlgade in 1988.
At 1 July 2004, we acquired the old soap factory in Mejlgade 55, where the State Film Office had been housed. Now the theater has again brought together all its activities under one roof and at the same time has expanded. Premises in the soap factory provides an evocative setting around the theater.
Teatret Gruppe 38 presents great performances throughout the year. With the new and larger premises, there are more options for the productions and the range of performances.
Teatret Gruppe 38 has an extensive tour-programme, both in Denmark and abroad. Tours have been made to Australia, Croatia, Norway, Canada, USA, Germany, Estonia, Scotland and Japan. A full list of foreign-tours can be seen here.

Theatre for all ages
The starting point for Teatret Gruppe 38's own performances and the performances we choose to present on our own stage is that they can be viewed with great benefits for both children and adults.
Teatret Gruppe 38 is a theater where children, families and adults know that throughout the season they can come and get exceptional theatrical experiences.
When we are not playing on our own stage, we often find ourselves with our performances at other theaters, associations or at schools around the country. We also tour abroad, and you can see a list of foreign tours here.
