WHEN THE LAST ONE HAS LEFT
Step into a courios paradise that sprouts and takes over the theatre – at the end of the season, when the summer rests over us.
The theatre closes the curtains and turns off the lights during the summer holidays.
But what happens behind the curtains when everyone has left?
Teatret Gruppe 38 and The Garden Studio invite you into the darkness of the theatre, where nature has broken through the ceiling and walls.
Enjoy a sensory experience with snippets of literary works and delightful tunes still hanging in the air, left from the finest buquet of theatre shows.
Your ticket includes a delicate and tasty serving created by Food Artist Jakob Vinkler – and a well-poured glass or cup of coffee or a soft drink.

WHAT IS THE GARDEN STUDIO?
Jakob Vinkler and Ulla Lundsgart are artistic directors at The Garden Studio which is located on Djursland. Denmark.
Working at the intersection of art, science and gastronomy, The Garden Studio blends high ambitions with accessibility, openness and invitations into artistic universes.
The Garden Studio works with artistic residencies in Homå, cross-artistic productions as THE VABINET OF WONDERS and alternative and inspiring workshops for companies.
Jakob Vinkler – gastronomist and artistic innovator
Jakob Vinkler is a significant player in gastronomy and cultural production with over 20 years of experience in developing creative projects where food, art and culture meet.
Through his diverse career, he has helped shape, develop and curate innovative projects in Denmark and internationally.
Jakob Vinkler’s ability to combine gastronomy and art has been visible in a wide range of cultural projects, including the dance performance The Blast Supper during Aarhus Festival,
and Carnevale, a cross-aesthetic theatre performance about the role of meat in contemporary life.
Teatret Gruppe 38 also collaborates with Jakob Vinkler on the performance 9 EPISTLES AND A BUN WITH MELTED CHEESE.
Ulla Lundsgart – cross-aesthetic artist and facilitator of encounters between nature, art and audience
Ulla Lundsgart is a graduate of the Jutland Art Academy In Denmark and has managed to create a unique space for artistic collaboration and audience involvement.
In 2018, she founded the first version of The Garden Studio: The Garden Studio at Ansegaard.
The organisation worked as a meeting place for professional artists and a platform where the boundaries between artist and audience were challenged.
Ulla works from a deep respect for nature, which plays an essential role in her creative process.
She is also driven by creating spaces where artists collaborate across disciplines and where the audience has the opportunity to step into the ‘engine room’ of art.
This emphasises a common thread in her work: The belief that all people have an essential relationship with nature, and that all people have a creative dimension
that needs to be stimulated and recognised.
By creating spaces where art and nature contribute side by side, she creates tactile, emotional and sensory experiences.
